Service Description

During this beginning quilting class you will learn the basics of quilting while making this adorable mug rug to take home! This class is designed for people who want to learn how to quilt by teaching you the techniques on a smaller scale. Students will be taught the importance of seam width, piecing and trimming, constructing a traditional log cabin block, making the “quilt sandwich”, machine quilting and binding. This three hour class will walk you through the entire process of making a small scale “quilt” from start to finish. These skills will be easily transferable to larger quilts. Come join our group and get started! During the class you will complete a 13” x 7” mug rug using the color scheme seen in the photos. The actual placement of the colors in the log cabin will be up to the student and may look different than the example. Quilting is a work of art- we are going to have fun and focus on learning techniques to build your confidence and motivation. Class will include fabric and batting kit. Supplies list: size 14 needles rotary cutter 3"x18" or larger quilter ruler ivory/ teal thread sewing machine manual for machine if beginner bobbin iron notebook for taking notes pen/ pencil
